~Japan-Korea loyalty point exchange service: T Points to OK cashbag points~
August 1, 2011 (Tokyo, Japan) - Operator of Japan's largest shared loyalty program T Point (see note 1*), Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd. (President & CEO: Muneaki Masuda, "CCC"), headquartered in Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, announced the second phase to its loyalty point exchange service with Korea's largest shared loyalty program OK cashbag operated by SK Marketing & Company Co., Ltd., (CEO: Bang-Hyung Lee, "SKM&C"), headquartered in Seoul, Korea and a subsidiary of Korea's SK Group, with the launch today of T Point services to Korean visitors.
The service of this second phase targets Koreans travelling to Japan for pleasure or business. Individuals who obtain dedicated Korean T Cards distributed at airports in Korea can accumulate T Points according to their purchase amounts at TSUTAYA, FamilyMart, Gusto, Doutor Coffee Shop, Lotteria, and other participating retail locations in Japan upon presentation of their T Card at the point of purchase. Accumulated T Points can be exchanged to OK cashbag Points via the OK cashbag website (http://www.okcashbag.com/) upon returning to Korea with the entry of necessary information (see note 2*). Starting today, Shinhan Bank foreign exchange booths located within Incheon International Airport and Gimpo International Airport in Seoul, and at Gimhae International Airport in Pusan are distributing the dedicated T Cards for Korean travelers. Distribution locations are expected to increase successively in the future.
CCC and SKM&C launched services for Japanese visitors on May 30, and OK cashbag utilization by Japanese within Korea is increasing successfully. By launching T Point accumulation benefits to Korean visitors, CCC looks forward to a resurgence of Korean visitors to Japan, and an increased patronage of participating T Point retail locations by Koreans.
*1 CCC's shared loyalty program T Point began in October 2003. As of June 30, 2011, program membership has grown to 37.57 million individuals, over a quarter of the population in Japan. The loyalty alliance includes 70 partner companies who participate in T Point and whose combined outlets total approximately 35,000. Businesses closely related to home life, such as TSUTAYA, FamilyMart, ENEOS, Doutor Coffee Shop, Gusto, Kitamura Camera, and Yahoo! Shopping form this alliance for usage across a broad range of categories. *2 A fee of 10% is deducted from the T Points to be exchanged, and converted at the foreign exchange rate established by Shihan Bank in exchanging to OK cashbag Points.
