・This is the core facility of Daikanyama T-SITE, which opened in December 2011 in Daikanyama, Tokyo. It is a lifestyle-oriented commercial facility that offers adults a rich lifestyle, focusing on cultural content such as books, movies, and music.
Although it is called a bookstore, it is not just a facility for selling books; it is a space that values the time that people spend there and is designed to be a comfortable home.
- We have concierges on-site who are experts in various fields such as cooking, travel, cars, etc., and can make suggestions based on their experience.
- The books are divided into six small rooms based on genre: "Humanities/Literature," "Art," "Architecture," "Cars," "Cooking," and "Travel." Each room boasts a wide selection of books, on par with that of a specialist bookstore, including rare foreign books and vintage books. You can also freely enjoy all the books while drinking coffee in the cafe.
・In addition to Tsutaya Bookstore, there are shops selling cameras and electric assist bicycles, as well as restaurants, beauty clinics and other specialty stores, all of which are popular with a wide range of customers.
- Its architecture, interior, and space won the top prize in the shopping center category at the World Architecture Festival (WAF), an international architecture award known as the Oscars of the architectural world. It has also received high praise both at home and abroad, including being the only bookstore in Japan to be selected as one of the "Most Beautiful Bookstores in the World" by Flavor Wire, a popular New York culture website.
