Culture Convenience Club TSUTAYA Company, which operates TSUTAYA stores nationwide, has called for submissions for "movies that parents and children would like to watch together" on TSUTAYA online, TSUTAYA's online service, in honor of Parent-Child Day. The results of the votes will be tallied and announced in ranking form.

The top spot went to "Finding Nemo," which also won Best Animated Feature Film at the 76th Academy Awards. Coming in second place is the classic "The Goonies," released in 1985, and in third place is "My Neighbor Totoro," which was ranked first in the "TSUTAYA Users' Favorite Ghibli Movies" ranking (conducted in May 2014). Also, while many animated works are ranked, the family drama "My Love," a film adaptation of Jodi Picoult's international bestselling novel starring Cameron Diaz, ranked 10th.

■What is "Parent-Child Day"?
Since coming to Japan in 1980, photographer Bruce Osborne has been active in a variety of fields, including exhibitions, advertising, and CD jackets. It was a day to reflect on the "irreplaceable bond" between parent and child that he felt through the filming. That is Parent-Child Day. This anniversary, which falls on the fourth Sunday of July, marks its 11th year this year. TSUTAYA also sympathizes with this message and supports "Parent-Child Day," hoping that this once-a-year day will be an opportunity for many parents and children to face each other and deepen their bonds.
◎From June 20th to August 22nd, TSUTAYA and Dai-ichi Life will be running a special collaboration project called "Parents and Children! Families! Smile Campaign 2014." http://hs.tsite.jp/oyakonohi/
