- A collaboration project with Funky Kato, who is releasing his first solo album -

Culture Convenience Club TSUTAYA Company, which operates TSUTAYA stores nationwide that sell music CDs, will be collaborating with Funky Kato, who is releasing his first solo album, to hold a special live concert to commemorate the release of Funky Kato x TSUTAYA's first album, "ONE," at a location in Tokyo on Wednesday, November 5, 2014.

We will be inviting 600 pairs (1,200 people) to this special live concert by lottery from those who purchase both the single "Taiyou" (released on August 20th) and the album "ONE" (released on September 3rd).

■Funky Kato x TSUTAYA 1st Album "ONE" Release Commemorative Special Live Application Guidelines

Customers who purchase the single "Taiyou," released on August 20th, from TSUTAYA's CD sales brand, TSUTAYA RECORDS, or TSUTAYA Online Shopping, will receive a sticker with an application ticket on a first-come, first-served basis, and customers who purchase the first album "ONE," released on September 3rd, will receive a special application postcard on a first-come, first-served basis. From those who submit both the application ticket and postcard, 600 pairs (1,200 people) will be selected by lottery to be invited to the special live show.

■Funky Kato
Born on December 18, 1978 in Hachioji, Tokyo.
In January 2004, FUNKY MONKEY BABYS was formed in his hometown of Hachioji. Serve as leader.
January 2006: Made major debut with "Sonomama Higashi e".
In December 2009, they were selected to appear on the NHK "Kohaku Uta Gassen" for the first time, and continued to appear for four consecutive years until their disbandment.
He also appeared on TBS's "Shining! Japan Record Awards" for three consecutive years, winning the Best Composition Award, Best Work Award, and Best Album Award.
In June 2013, the group disbanded at the Tokyo Dome, the stage of their dreams.
After the group disbanded, he announced that he would pursue a solo career under the name "Funky Kato."
Funky Kato, a solo artist, started off with an in-store live performance, which he considers to be the starting point of his career, and released his solo debut single "My VOICE" on February 12, 2014. He debuted at No. 3 on the Oricon weekly singles rankings, and on February 14th the documentary film "Funky Kato/My VOICE - From Funky Kato to a New Future" was released nationwide, marking his spectacular solo debut. He is scheduled to hold a solo concert at Nippon Budokan on September 19th and 20th this fall.
He also announced that he would be taking on acting as an opportunity to broaden his horizons after his solo debut. He will continue to vigorously pursue his solo activities as Funky Kato.
