-- A literary award for original novels that make hit movie producers want to adapt them into films --

The 2nd Japan Entertainment Novel Awards, which began accepting entries in August last year and is organized by three companies: Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd., Nippon Broadcasting System, Inc., and Linda Publishers Co., Ltd. (in alphabetical order), closed the application period on February 28th. After a rigorous screening process, no work was selected as the Grand Prize winner, and two works were selected as Excellence Prize winners, as shown below.

This award is a new type of literary prize that aims to discover "new writers" who can create "inspirational original novels for films" with overwhelming entertainment value, ideas, and unexpected story developments. The competition attracted a total of 208 highly entertaining works from a wide range of generations, covering a wide range of genres including mystery, science fiction, romance, horror, and light novels, all of which were written with the intention of being adapted into films.
From these, under the direction of film producer Osamu Kubota, who served as the chairman of the second judging committee, the first round of selection narrowed it down to 30 works, the second round to 10 works, and the third round to 4 works. After the final selection, the following two works were selected as Excellence Award winners.
The two Excellence Award winning works are scheduled to be published by Linda Publishers in the future.
