"Mentai Piriri," produced and broadcast in August 2013 to commemorate the 55th anniversary of the launch of Television Nishinippon, stars local Fukuoka natives Hakata Hanamaru and Tomita Yasuko. It is a moving story that depicts the laughter and tears of the lives of a married couple who make mentaiko. It is a high-quality "Made in Fukuoka" drama that focuses on the people and things of Fukuoka, and despite being aired on a weekday morning, it recorded a peak audience rating of 8.8%, an unusually high figure for a drama produced by a local station. It also won the Encouragement Award at the 30th ATP Awards and the 51st Galaxy Awards, and is scheduled to be adapted for the stage in 2015.
