Following on from the "Drama Survey" conducted in May of this year, we asked 2,403 men and women aged 16 to 79 who frequently watch prime-time variety shows about "variety shows."
First, we asked respondents to select multiple answers to the question, "Which variety shows have you watched at least once?" (viewing experience), and the top answer was "The! Iron Chef! DASH!" (79.4%), which is broadcast on the Nippon Television network. As the show stars TOKIO, which is popular among women, over 80% of women answered that it was a show they had watched. Coming in second place was "Sekai no Hate Made Itte Q!" (76.2%), which was also broadcast on the Nippon Television network and made famous by Imoto Ayako as "Rare Animal Hunter Imoto." Over 90% of women under their teens chose it as a program they had seen. Coming in third place was "Legal Consultation Office with a Long Line" (75.3%), which is also broadcast on the Nippon Television network, and it was ranked first among programs that women in their 40s have watched. In fourth place was "Tonneruzu no Minasan no Okage Deshita" (65.6%), which is broadcast on the Fuji TV network, and in fifth place was "Kaiun! Nandemo Kanteidan" (63.7%), which is broadcast on the TV Tokyo network.

Next, we asked, "How often do you watch each program?" (viewing intention), and looking at the top percentages of people who chose "I always watch it" or "I usually watch it" from the options, the top spot went to "Sekai no Hate Made Itte Q!" (29.3%), revealing that it is a program that 40% of both men and women under the age of 10 watch often. Coming in second was "The! Iron Chef! DASH!" (27.1%). While more women have watched it, more men (27.5%) intend to watch it than women (26.7%). Coming in third place was "Honmadekka!? TV" (23.1%), hosted by Sanma Akashiya and broadcast on the Fuji TV network, with nearly 40% of women over 60 answering that it is a program they watch often. "Honmadekka!? TV" ranked 10th in terms of viewing experience. In fourth place was "Cream Quiz Miracle 9" (20.5%), which is broadcast on the TV Asahi network, and in fifth place was "London Hearts" (19.7%), also broadcast on the TV Asahi network.

Next, we asked about "impressions of each program" (satisfaction level), and looking at the top percentages of people who chose "very satisfied" or "somewhat satisfied," we see that "Sekai no Hate Made Itte Q!" (64.3%), which was chosen first in terms of viewing intention, also ranked first in terms of satisfaction. The program also has a high viewing interest among both men and women under the age of 10, and has a satisfaction rate of nearly 80% among people of the same age group, indicating that it is a popular program among teenagers. The second most popular program was "The! Iron Chef! DASH!" (61.5%), which was chosen in the same way as viewing intentions, and it was found to be a program that particularly satisfies teenage boys and girls, as well as women in their 20s and 50s. Coming in third place was "Wafuku Souhonke" (55.3%), which is broadcast on the TV Tokyo network. As the program's content conveys the wonders of Japan, satisfaction was highest among men and women aged 60 and over, with satisfaction rates exceeding 60% for both groups. In fourth place was "Honmadekka!? TV" (54.8%), and in fifth place was "Miracle Experience! Unbelievable" (49.3%), which is broadcast on the Fuji TV network.

We have created a chart of indicators for each program in terms of viewing experience, viewing intention, and satisfaction, based on five criteria: "Calm and relaxing to watch," "Provides useful information," "Makes you laugh and smile," "Moving and memorable," and "Featuring a favorite talent or celebrity."The programs with the highest scores for each index were "Wafuku Souhonke" for "relaxing and relaxing viewing" and "providing useful information," "Sekai no Hate Made Itte Q!" for "full of laughter and makes you smile," and "The! Tetsuwan! DASH!!" for "moving and memorable" and "featuring favorite talents and celebrities."

Finally, when asked, "Which genre of TV programs do you usually watch most often?" the top answer was "drama" (24.3%), followed by "variety shows, comedy, and quizzes" (24.2%) and "news and reports" (14.2%). When we looked at these results by gender and age, we found that men under the age of 10 tended to prefer "anime/special effects" (22.4%), while women over 40 tended to prefer "dramas."
When asked about the average amount of time spent watching TV per day, the answer was 2.4 hours on weekdays and 3.4 hours on weekends, meaning people watch one hour more TV on weekends than on weekdays. Looking at the results by gender and age group, those who watch the most TV on weekdays are women over 60, at 3.3 hours, while those who watch the least TV are men in their 20s, at 1.7 hours. Additionally, women in their 30s watch the most TV on weekends, at 3.9 hours, while teenage boys watch the least TV on weekends, at 2.7 hours.
