Announcements
Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd.
We have recently confirmed that due to an error on our part, some people have not completed part of the T Card cancellation procedure, which requires them to mail in a "notification form."After announcing this matter on November 26, 2019, we have re-examined the matter and confirmed that there are 83 new customers who are affected. Therefore, we have revised the applicable period and number of affected customers and are now announcing this.
We deeply apologize for any inconvenience caused to affected customers, and would like to provide the following details regarding the defect in the T Card cancellation procedure.
1. Background
We received an inquiry from a customer stating, "Even though I mailed in the 'Notification Form' and completed the T Card cancellation procedure, the T Membership Terms and Conditions on the Yahoo! website are still in the status of being accepted." Upon investigation, we confirmed that 628 customers had completed their T Card cancellation, but had not yet completed canceling their acceptance of the T Membership Terms and Conditions on their Yahoo! JAPAN ID, which was part of their T Membership online service registration.
Due to the above-mentioned omission on our part, the customer's T Card cancellation information was not sent from our company to Yahoo, and the T Membership Terms and Conditions remained in the acceptance state.
2. Eligible customers
This applies to customers who applied for cancellation by mailing a "notification form" between June 1, 2016 and November 28, 2019, and who simultaneously applied to cancel their T Card membership and their T Member Online Service registration.
3. Response to affected customers
We have already cancelled the T Membership Terms and Conditions for Yahoo! JAPAN IDs of customers who do not have points, and we plan to cancel the T Membership Terms and Conditions for Yahoo! JAPAN IDs of customers who have points by November 29, 2019, in order to process point transfers. Regarding data such as points awarded when customers use Yahoo services that is unintentionally obtained due to the above-mentioned defect, we will suspend or delete this data so that it cannot be used by us.
4. Future Actions
We will review our operations and implement thorough measures to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future, and will do our utmost to prevent a recurrence.
