TSUTAYA BOOKS Co., Ltd.
We would like to express our deepest sympathies to all those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and to all those involved.
Following the declaration of a state of emergency by the government on April 7th, we are working to provide our customers with books, movies, music, and other items to satisfy their needs as they spend more time at home. We are doing our best to meet our customers' requests while prioritizing the health and safety of our customers and employees. On the other hand, in response to requests from local governments, we are gradually closing our directly operated stores in crowded areas, commercial and public facilities, and rental stores alone.
In addition, at stores that are open, we are taking the following comprehensive infection prevention measures to ensure the safety of our customers and employees.
[1] Infection prevention measures for customers
・Install disinfectant for customers
・Air conditioning equipment will be operated at all times to ensure proper ventilation within the store.
・Take measures to avoid creating an enclosed space
*Examples: leaving the entrance open, leaving the smoke vent open, etc.
・Maintain distance between customers lining up at the cash register
・Install a partition between the cash register and customers
[2] Health management of store employees and infection prevention measures
・Check for fever or cold symptoms every day before work and ensure that employees fill out a health check sheet
・If an employee has a fever, they will be strictly prohibited from working.
・Wash and disinfect your hands properly when coming to work or returning from a break.
All employees must wear masks
[3] Request to customers
・Please wear a mask when visiting our store
・We will not allow anyone who is not feeling well, such as those with a fever or cough, to enter the store.
・Please refrain from entering the store with multiple people or staying for long periods of time.

The situation surrounding the COVID-19 infection is constantly changing, so if there are any changes in the requests of national and local governments in the future, we will also take prompt and appropriate measures to adjust our store business policies accordingly. We appreciate the understanding and cooperation of all concerned parties.
We place the highest priority on the health of our customers and employees, and will continue to strengthen and thoroughly implement the above infection prevention measures.
