Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Muneaki Masuda; hereinafter referred to as CCC), which operates the DVD and CD online home delivery rental service "TSUTAYA DISCAS," will launch a service on Monday, April 5, 2010, that significantly enhances the selection of titles, services, and functions of its existing home delivery comic rental service.

CCC began its comic book rental franchise business at TSUTAYA stores in April 2007, and as of the end of March 2010, the number of franchised stores has expanded to 360 nationwide. Furthermore, comic book rentals at our stores are growing, primarily targeting women in their 30s, and this is contributing to rental sales through cross-use with existing items such as music and videos. Meanwhile, TSUTAYA DISCAS began offering home delivery comic rentals in November 2008, and like its physical stores, its usage has been steadily increasing, primarily among female members in their 30s.

This time, TSUTAYA DISCAS will expand the number of series it handles to more than 12 times the existing number, and more than double its inventory. It will position comic rentals as one of its home delivery rental services, following DVDs and CDs, and aims to increase the number of new comic rental members and further expand the TSUTAYA DISCAS business.

We will be expanding our comic book inventory from the current 45,000 copies to 120,000 copies. Furthermore, we will offer the largest selection in the industry, ranging from our existing 1,100 series to 14,000 series. We plan to gradually increase both the number of items in stock and the number of series in the future.

Previously, you could choose from pre-packaged sets of 10 to 30 books, but from now on, you can select any book you like, from just one, and rent between 3 and 30 books.

■The search function and reviews provide comprehensive information about the works.
We have expanded features such as search, ranking, reviews, and recommendations to the same level as DVDs and CDs, enriching the information available about the works.
