Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd. is pleased to announce that the Korean TV drama "Sungkyunkwan Scandal (Complete Edition)," which began rentals at TSUTAYA stores nationwide on April 20th, has achieved 22,000 rentals in its first week, setting a new record for the highest number of first-week rentals in the Asian TV drama genre. (*Based on TSUTAYA's sales figures for Vol. 1 in the Asian TV drama genre at regular price)

This record far surpasses the previous record for the number of rentals in the first week held by the Korean historical drama "The Slave Hunters," and represents a 220% increase compared to the hugely successful 2010 Korean drama "You're Beautiful," starring Jang Geun-suk.

Furthermore, in the latest TSUTAYA Asia TV Drama Weekly Ranking (compiled from April 18th (Mon) to April 24th (Sun)), "Sungkyunkwan Scandal (Complete Edition)" has monopolized all of the top 10 spots.
