Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd. is pleased to announce that the total number of downloads for its smartphone application "TSUTAYA Search" for both iPhone and Android has exceeded 500,000.

"TSUTAYA Search" is an application that allows you to enjoy TSUTAYA more conveniently by searching for inventory, rankings, and reviews of books, movies, TV dramas, music, and other items handled by TSUTAYA, as well as accessing links to related video sites. It was launched for iPhones in September 2010 and for Android devices in February 2011.

The feature that allows users to conveniently search on Google Maps to find out "which nearby TSUTAYA store has it available for rent or purchase right now," especially for books, movies, and music that they've seen featured on TV or the internet, or that they've become interested in through conversations with friends, has been very well received, and has now surpassed 500,000 downloads.

Going forward, Culture Convenience Club is considering adding a highly requested coupon function to "TSUTAYA Search" to make books, movies, music, and other entertainment that enrich people's lives even more accessible to customers, and will continue to propose a more convenient lifestyle with TSUTAYA.
