—First drugstore chain in Shikoku to introduce T-POINT service!—
Ohya Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Saijo City, Ehime Prefecture, President and CEO: Shintaro Ito, hereinafter "Ohya"), which operates the drug store "mac" in Shikoku, and Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd. (Tokyo Headquarters: Shibuya Ward, Tokyo, President and CEO: Muneaki Masuda, hereinafter "CCC"), which operates "T-POINT," Japan's largest common point service, and "TSUTAYA," which proposes lifestyles to customers through books, movies, music, etc., will begin offering T-POINT service*2 at all 37 "mac" drug stores*1 from September 15, 2011. This initiative marks the first time a drugstore chain in Shikoku has introduced the T-POINT service.
Ohya began developing the "mac" drugstore chain in Shikoku in 1999, and currently provides mac points to approximately 390,000 customers across all 36 "mac" stores. Furthermore, in 1988, the company became a franchisee of "TSUTAYA," and currently offers the common point service "T-POINT" at all seven "TSUTAYA" stores operated by the group.
By completely switching from the conventional mac points to T-POINT, Ohya will be able to offer a point service that can be used at any of the 983 T-POINT participating stores in Shikoku, as well as at "mac" and "TSUTAYA". Going forward, we aim to expand usage among existing members by implementing new recommendation strategies using members' marketing data, and we also expect to attract new customers by implementing in-store promotional measures, which will bring in 1.36 million T-CARD members, representing 33.7% of the population of Shikoku.
CCC has been working to expand its T-POINT service at drugstore chains since this fiscal year, and with this partnership with Ohya, we aim to further increase awareness and usage of T-POINT within the Shikoku region.
