Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd. (Tokyo Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Muneaki Masuda) will be running a campaign at 800 TSUTAYA RECORDS stores nationwide, which handle DVD sales, starting July 15, 2011 (Friday), where customers who purchase Blu-ray software will receive a free copy of "Cinema Handbook Blu-ray Edition," a catalog magazine of foreign films.

"Cinema Handbook Blu-ray Edition" is a special edition of "TSUTAYA Cinema Handbook," a movie guide that has been used by many movie fans since its first publication in 1996. It is a catalog of recommended movies that can be enjoyed on Blu-ray.

TSUTAYA has been strengthening its Blu-ray sales since April 2008, and began offering rentals in July of the same year, and has since been working to increase the number of titles available. Last year, we offered a 1,000 yen discount on new Blu-rays when customers brought in unwanted DVDs, and we also ran a trade-in campaign from DVD to Blu-ray, demonstrating our commitment to offering a wide selection of Blu-rays at affordable prices, making us the go-to place for Blu-rays.

This year, with the complete transition to digital terrestrial broadcasting on July 24, 2011, many people have replaced their DVD recorders with Blu-ray recorders.
