Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd. (Tokyo Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Muneaki Masuda) will release 35 titles on August 27th as the second installment of its Japanese music series under TSUTAYA's private brand CD label, "The Best Value 999".
TSUTAYA's private brand "The Best Value 999" became a major topic of conversation as the first large-scale private brand project in the music industry, and the series has sold over 750,000 copies in total. Newly joining the lineup this time are some of Japan's leading rock bands, including Alice, who had a string of massive hits in the ’70s and ’80s, as well as Sadistic Mika Band and Yanagi George & Rainywood. The lineup also features nostalgic GS (Group Sounds) bands, such as The Spiders, The Tigers, and The Wild Ones. Crazy Cats and The Drifters greatly enlivened Japan during the Showa era. BORO and Yashiki Takajin are the two great kings of Osaka songs. In addition, the 35 titles are diverse and include artists that will excite even the most discerning fans, such as Murasaki, The Stalin, and PYG.
With the addition of these new titles, the "The Best Value 999" series now comprises a total of 208 titles (88 Japanese titles and 120 Western titles), further enhancing the enjoyment of customers' choices. It is expected to surpass 1 million cumulative sales by the end of this year.
