TSUTAYA GALAPAGOS Co., Ltd. / Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd. / Sharp Corporation
TSUTAYA GALAPAGOS Co., Ltd. (hereinafter "TGP"), a joint venture between Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd. (hereinafter "CCC") and Sharp Corporation (hereinafter "Sharp"), will become a subsidiary of Sharp on September 30th, as Sharp will acquire all of the shares of TGP held by CCC.
This matter concerns the termination of the business alliance between CCC and Sharp regarding the content store business. Following Sharp's acquisition of TGP as a subsidiary, TGP will change its name to "GALAPAGOS NETWORKS Co., Ltd." (hereinafter "GN"). Additionally, the name of the e-book store service has been changed from "TSUTAYA GALAPAGOS" to "GALAPAGOS STORE". GN will continue to provide services going forward.
