Growell Holdings Co., Ltd. (Head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Takashi Takada; hereinafter "Growell HD") and Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd. (Tokyo Head office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Muneaki Masuda; hereinafter "CCC") have entered into a business alliance agreement to introduce "T-POINT," Japan's largest common point service operated by CCC, into the drug store chain operated by the Growell HD Group.

1. Background and Objectives of the Business Alliance

The drugstore industry is undergoing a period of transformation, driven by factors such as the increasing senior population, growing health consciousness among consumers, and deregulation resulting from revisions to the Pharmaceutical Affairs Law. In the midst of this period of transformation, Growell HD is promoting multi-store expansion based on the concept of a "family pharmacy," with a business model centered on "drugs, dispensing, counseling, and late-night hours," in order to meet the diversifying needs of customers. Meanwhile, as the mileage point issuance market expands to over 900 billion yen, CCC provides T-POINT services to 38.41 million members, representing more than a quarter of Japan's population, as a highly convenient common point system that can be used in various aspects of daily life. As of the end of September 2011, T-POINT partner companies numbered 78 and approximately 38,000 stores. Through this business alliance, Growell HD and CCC aim to combine the transformation of the drug industry with the growth of the points market to provide more satisfying services to both companies' customers and propose a richer lifestyle and a healthier way of living.
