TSUTAYA's 2011 annual rankings for CD sales (retail) have been announced. In the album category, Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" took the top spot, while AKB48 dominated the singles category with three top spots.

Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd., which operates "TSUTAYA BOOKS" and "TSUTAYA" stores nationwide that propose lifestyles to customers through books, movies, music, and more, has compiled the number of CDs sold at its stores nationwide from January 1st to November 30th, 2011, and will announce the "2011 TSUTAYA Annual Ranking."
In the CD sales rankings, Lady Gaga's album "Born This Way" took first place in the Western music category. Furthermore, in the CD single (maxi single) category, AKB48's "Everyday, Katyusha" took first place, and with "Flying Get" and "Sakura no Ki ni Narou," AKB48 dominated the top three spots.
