—A completely new form of e-book, unlike anything before—"eBOOK+" (eBook Plus), featuring entirely original entertainment content, is now available!—

TSUTAYA.com Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Kazuo Nakanishi) will be expanding its e-book distribution service, "TSUTAYA.com eBOOKs," to include a PC version of its service, in addition to its existing Android device service, starting January 26, 2012 (Thursday). http://tsutaya.com/ebooks/pc/ We will begin this process.
In conjunction with this, we will also begin offering "eBOOK+" (e-book plus), completely original entertainment content from "TSUTAYA.com eBOOKs," exclusively on the PC website.

"TSUTAYA.com eBOOKs" is an e-book distribution service that launched on June 30, 2011 (Thursday) for Android devices. Our users appreciate the wide selection of content, from popular books and comics to magazines, which they can enjoy in high definition. In addition to launching PC-based distribution in January 2012, we plan to begin distribution compatible with iPads and iPhones in February, and a revamped version for Android devices in May. We will continue to enhance our services to meet the book needs of even more customers. Furthermore, we will gradually expand the distribution of content, such as "eBOOK+", which is currently limited to specific devices, to all devices.

"eBOOK+", which will be launched first on the PC site, is a completely new form of entertainment content that combines sound and video to provide more entertaining content, and allows users to select and purchase only the pages they like, one by one, offering a high degree of freedom unique to ebooks.
Focusing on K-pop and idol content, we will offer a unique perspective on e-books, including behind-the-scenes footage of concerts and movie sets. Furthermore, we plan to gradually expand to other content such as comedy and sports.
By developing our original "eBOOK+" service in addition to existing ebooks, we believe we can establish a new style of ebooks and contribute to further revitalizing the market. Going forward, we plan to collaborate with various publishers to expand our range of next-generation content.

To commemorate the launch of this PC service, TSUTAYA.com eBOOKs will be holding an opening campaign from January 26th (Thursday) to February 29th (Wednesday). During the period, we plan to distribute special content such as: ① special free content for "Resident Evil Revelations x SUPER☆GiRLS", ② an exclusive digital photobook with video footage of the debut event in Japan held by the hottest K-POP unit "INFINITE", and ③ a special feature on the movie "Afro Tanaka" which will be released on February 18th.
