ーTo commemorate this, Darth Vader will be appearing at the Osaki store on April 14th.ー

TSUTAYA stores nationwide, operated by Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Muneaki Masuda), will begin selling "Taito Lottery Honpo 'Star Wars'" from mid-April 2012 (available at select stores), where every person who draws a lottery ticket will win an attractive character prize.

 To celebrate the release of the lottery, TSUTAYA will be holding a commemorative event featuring Darth Vader, Stormtroopers, and others at the TSUTAYA Osaki Ekimae store on Saturday, April 14.

 "Taito Lottery 'Star Wars'" is a hotly anticipated product, as for the first time, Kotobukiya, which boasts some of the best technology in the figure industry, has been hired to produce the prototypes for the figures that make up half of the prizes. In particular, Prize A Darth Vader, Prize B C-3PO, Prize D Yoda, and Prize E R2-D2 are all the same scale, so when you line them up, you can recreate the world of Star Wars.

 "Star Wars" is a film series that has been immensely popular among people of all ages for 35 years since its first release in 1977, and is one of the most popular titles in the series at TSUTAYA, having been rented out more than 7 million times in total. Additionally, the first 3D film in the series, "STAR WARS Episode 1: The Phantom Menace 3D," was released on March 16, 2012, in approximately 600 cinemas nationwide, and is attracting a lot of attention.

 TSUTAYA hopes that through the new "Taito Lottery Honpo Star Wars" sale, fans will be able to enjoy the world of Star Wars in a deeper and more comprehensive way.
