Takeo City (Mayor: Keisuke Hiwatari) and Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd. (President and CEO: Muneaki Masuda, hereinafter referred to as "CCC") have reached a basic agreement today regarding the planning and operation of the Takeo City Library and Historical Museum (5304-1 Takeo, Takeo-cho, Takeo City, Saga Prefecture), as follows.
 
■Outline of the basic agreement
In light of the advancing aging society, Takeo City and CCC have agreed to collaborate on a plan to operate the Takeo City Library and Historical Museum as a core facility for realizing a rich life for citizens, by introducing the concept and know-how of "Daikanyama TSUTAYA BOOKS," operated by CCC, and by developing related businesses as an important means to achieve this.
 
■Nine civic values to be realized at Takeo City Library through this partnership
1. A place where you can encounter knowledge from 120,000 books.
2. Introduction of magazine sales
3. Abundance of movies and music
4. Introduction of stationery sales
5. Search services utilizing electronic devices
6. Introduction of a cafe/dining area
7. Introduction of product selection and services utilizing the know-how of "Daikanyama TSUTAYA BOOKS".
8. Introduction of T-CARD and T-POINT
9. 365 days a year, open from 9 am to 9 pm.
 
■ Planned completion date for the new library
Scheduled to start operation on April 1, 2013.
