TSUTAYA Company (headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo), which operates TSUTAYA stores nationwide, has added a "history viewing function" to its smartphone application "TSUTAYA Search" in response to user requests such as "I want to know which volume of a drama I've rented" and "I want to remember the title of the movie I watched recently." We've also added a new coupon notification feature for Android devices, which is already available for iPhones.

The newly added "History Viewing Function" covers DVDs (note), CDs, books, and games rented or purchased within the last six months at TSUTAYA stores, TSUTAYA Online Shopping, and TSUTAYA DISCAS. It also allows you to view usage history prior to the application version update. Please note that you will need to register for a T-ID (free of charge) to use this service.

"TSUTAYA Search" is an application for iPhone and Android devices that allows users to enjoy TSUTAYA even more. It was launched in February 2011 and, as of the end of June, has been downloaded a cumulative 1.1 million times, making it TSUTAYA's most popular smartphone application. In addition to "stock search" for books, movies, TV dramas, and music at nearby stores and pre-registered stores, and access to "coupons and special offers," the service also provides a "new release calendar," a function to register "favorites" of items you want to watch, "work reviews," and links to related video sites. We will continue to evolve TSUTAYA Search into an app that makes it even more convenient for our customers to use our stores.

(Note) You cannot view the work history of adult genre works. (You can check for R18-rated general movies and foreign TV series.)
