Yaomasa Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Odawara City, Kanagawa Prefecture; President and CEO: Masatsugu Tajima; hereinafter "Yaomasa"), which operates food supermarkets and TSUTAYA stores (DVD/CD rental and book sales) mainly in Odawara City, Kanagawa Prefecture, and Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd. (Tokyo Headquarters: Shibuya Ward, Tokyo; President and CEO: Muneaki Masuda; hereinafter "CCC"), which operates T-POINT, Japan's largest common point service, have decided to introduce the T-POINT service at Yaomasa's food supermarkets (excluding some stores) starting this fall.
The common point service "T-POINT" is a point service that, as of the end of June 2012, is held by 40.93 million people, which is one in three people in Japan (active members who have used a T-CARD in the past year, and unique members who hold multiple cards are counted as one person). In Kanagawa Prefecture, 3.97 million people, or 43.9% of the residents, use T-CARD. Furthermore, the T-POINT Alliance includes 88 companies and approximately 47,000 stores, and can be used in a wide range of everyday life sectors, including TSUTAYA, FamilyMart, Three F, ENEOS, Gusto, Camera Kitamura, Gyukaku, Doutor Coffee Shop, Yahoo! Shopping, ZOZOTOWN, and more.
Yaomasa and CCC will begin offering T-POINT services at supermarkets operated by Yaomasa starting this fall. Accordingly, the Value CLUB card currently issued by Yaomasa will be discontinued, and T-POINT will be earned and redeemed using T-CARD that will be issued in stores in the future. Further details regarding the T-POINT service at Yaomasa will be announced closer to the service launch date.
Through this collaboration, Yaomasa and CCC will provide a more convenient point service to current Yaomasa customers, and will also implement advantageous and convenient measures to encourage existing T-CARD holders to visit supermarkets.
