Nissen Co., Ltd. / Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd.

—The fusion and evolution of Japan's largest catalog mail-order service and Japan's largest common point service—

Nissen Co., Ltd. (Head office: Minami-ku, Kyoto City; President and CEO: Shinya Samura; hereinafter "Nissen") and Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd. (Tokyo Head office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Muneaki Masuda; hereinafter "CCC") have reached a basic agreement on a comprehensive business alliance (hereinafter, "this alliance") aimed at mutual business development and strengthening of competitiveness.

The T-POINT service, operated by CCC, is Japan's largest common point service, used daily by 41.88 million customers, representing one in three people in Japan, and usable at approximately 48,000 stores of 88 T-POINT partner companies. Customers who have a T-CARD can earn T-POINT based on the amount spent by presenting and registering their T-CARD at participating stores and services such as TSUTAYA, FamilyMart, ENEOS, Gusto, and Yahoo! Shopping. The accumulated T-POINT can be used at participating stores and services at a rate of 1 point = 1 yen. On the other hand, Nissen has a customer base centered around the F1 and F2 demographic, which accounts for approximately 30 million people, or one in four of the Japanese population. It is one of Japan's largest catalog mail-order brands, offering 20,000 to 30,000 items at any given time, mainly fashion items such as apparel and interior goods, through multi-channels including catalogs, PCs, and smartphones.

Through this partnership, Nissen will introduce the T-POINT service operated and provided by CCC starting in the fall of 2013. This will allow them to acquire even more new customers and improve the repeat purchase rate of existing customers by bridging the gap between physical stores, online retailers, and catalog retailers. In January 2012, the number of female members of the T-POINT service surpassed the number of male members for the first time, and with further growth in female membership expected, partnering with Nissen, which has one of the largest female customer bases in Japan, will enable further expansion of the membership base. Furthermore, based on future concrete partnership discussions, both companies will leverage their respective strengths—their top-level media scale and membership base in Japan—to enhance their ability to offer valuable lifestyle suggestions to customers throughout Japan and provide optimal services based on customer needs, thereby achieving increased customer value for both companies in the medium to long term.
