Senior-oriented SNS site "Slownet" and "TSUTAYA" hold movie haiku contest

—In conjunction with TSUTAYA's promotion offering one free rental of older DVDs to customers aged 60 and over—

Nippon Telenet Co., Ltd., which operates the senior-oriented SNS site "Slownet" (see footnote at the end of the text), and Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd., which operates TSUTAYA stores nationwide, will be holding a "Movie Senryu Contest" from today, October 5th (Friday), until November 4th (Sunday), where participants can submit senryu poems expressing their thoughts, memories, and other episodes about movies in the 5-7-5 syllable structure. During this period, TSUTAYA stores nationwide are running a campaign offering one free rental of classic films and other older DVD titles to new customers aged 60 and over.

TSUTAYA is working to help people aged 60 and over, who spent their youth around 1960 when there were the most movie screens, to continue enjoying movies. They are strengthening services that are easy for seniors to use, such as re-releasing out-of-print titles and offering a mail-in return service, which has led to an increase in rental usage among those aged 60 and over.

Slownet and TSUTAYA hope to help seniors enjoy movies even more, and will continue to implement various initiatives, including the "Movie Senryu Contest," to enrich seniors' leisure time with entertainment and support a fulfilling lifestyle.
