—TSUTAYA exclusive "Friend Summon" data distribution: "Swapnote" distribution by Bravely Default producer Tomoya Asano—

TSUTAYA Co., Ltd. (headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo), which operates TSUTAYA stores nationwide, will launch the second phase of the "'BRAVELY DEFAULT' TSUTAYA de DS Campaign" on October 11th (Thursday) as part of its "TSUTAYA de DS" service for the Nintendo DS® series, coinciding with the release of the Nintendo 3DS® game software "BRAVELY DEFAULT".

During the campaign period, participating TSUTAYA stores will be offering a special "Friend Summon" data set, featuring a character trained by TSUTAYA staff called "TSUTAYA no Hito" (TSUTAYA Person), exclusively for TSUTAYA customers. In addition, to commemorate the release of Bravely Default, customers who bring in a Nintendo 3DS with the downloadable software "Swapnote" downloaded will receive a "Swapnote" written by Bravely Default producer Tomoya Asano, as well as original design stationery.

■How to participate
Bring your Nintendo 3DS series console and the Nintendo 3DS software "Bravely Default" to a participating TSUTAYA store, access Nintendo Zone, and touch "TSUTAYA de DS" to participate in the "Bravely Default TSUTAYA de DS" campaign.
 
■ Participating stores for "TSUTAYA de DS"
Approximately 160 TSUTAYA stores that sell games will be included in this promotion.

■Implementation period
From Thursday, October 11th to Wednesday, October 31st, 2012

■ How to encounter "TSUTAYA Person" (Please check the PDF for images) 
[1] Launch the software in the "TSUTAYA de DS" download area.
[2] Open the save screen 
In the field, select "SAVE" at the top of the left menu on the bottom screen.
In dungeons and towns, talking to an "adventurer" will open the save screen.
[3] Select "Invite NetFriend"
Selecting "Invite NetFriend" initiates communication, and once it's finished, the encounter is complete.
Guests you have passed by will be displayed.
(Caution!) If you quit without saving, your StreetPass data will be lost.
Don't forget to save.
Also, if you want to check the data you received
① Open the X button menu
② Select "Operation"
③ Select "Friends"
④ You can view it by selecting "Guest".
(Please note!) If you have more than 20 guests, the oldest guests will be deleted first.
You can "protect" your favorite guests by selecting them from the guest list.
[4] During battle, it is now possible to summon "TSUTAYA Person" as a friend!
Furthermore, the village population increases by the number of people you pass by.

1. Distribution of AR markers in stores
At participating TSUTAYA stores offering the "TSUTAYA de DS" promotion, we will be distributing AR marker sets for the trial version of the AR movie. Using an A4-sized AR marker, life-sized characters move around with a sense of realism! Enjoy the BRAVELY DEFAULT AR movie with this new Nintendo 3DS experience.
*AR markers will be distributed in stores only while supplies last.
2. The mini-game "Job Roulette" will give you the "Hayabusa Knife," a weapon available for early access.
If you take on the "Job Roulette" challenge in "TSUTAYA de DS," you will receive a serial code that will allow you to obtain the "Hayabusa Knife," a weapon exclusively available at TSUTAYA. The "Hayabusa Knife" is a special weapon that can be used in the game and increases your speed through the power of the falcon.
3. Art Gallery Exhibition
The "Art Gallery Exhibition" will showcase beautiful visuals ranging from storyboards and still images to game screenshots.
