Top Culture Co., Ltd. (listed on the First Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange, Headquarters: Nishi-ku, Niigata City, President and CEO: Hideo Shimizu) will open "TSUTAYA BOOKS Hitachinaka Store," the largest multi-purpose bookstore in the northern Kanto region, in Hitachinaka City, Ibaraki Prefecture on Saturday, November 17, 2012. This store will be the 72nd TSUTAYA store operated by Top Culture Co., Ltd. Furthermore, this store is the first "super-large TSUTAYA" in Ibaraki Prefecture, which Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd. plans to expand nationwide, featuring bookstores of around 5,000 square meters. With a total floor area of 1,819 tsubo (approximately 5,600 square meters), it is the second largest TSUTAYA in Japan, after TSUTAYA BOOKS Foreo Shobu Store.

TSUTAYA BOOKS Hitachinaka Store is a store that pursues TSUTAYA's founding principle of being a "place to propose lifestyles." It is not bound by the conventional "business format" of bookstores and record stores, but rather views books and magazines as "materials" that support cross-cutting activities such as life, culture, art, history, and education, and provides customers with a "place" where people can naturally interact by integrating a cafe space and other features.

We have enhanced our selection of books on hobbies and interests for the "Premier Age," a generation primarily composed of baby boomers who enjoy a "new adult lifestyle." For example, we stock over 10,000 types of cookbooks, as well as a wide variety of books on history, philosophy, religion, art, and more, including foreign books and magazines that were previously only available in the city center. Furthermore, the "Kids Area," which boasts approximately 30,000 types of children's books and picture books, is designed as a place where three generations—parents, children, and grandchildren—can happily spend time together. It also offers educational toys and stationery, as well as a spacious area where you can read aloud, creating precious moments with your children and grandchildren.

Our BOOK&CAFE-style store provides a place where you can leisurely choose books and magazines before purchasing them while enjoying a cup of coffee, creating an atmosphere like your own personal study.
