—The top-selling manga of the year was "Space Brothers," followed by "Thermae Romae" in second place and "We Were There" in third, with all of the top spots being based on manga released in 2012—

TSUTAYA Co., Ltd., which operates 698 stores nationwide as part of the "TSUTAYA BOOK NETWORK," has compiled the number of books sold at its stores nationwide from January 1st to November 30th, 2012, and will announce the most popular books of the year as the "2012 TSUTAYA Annual Ranking."

In the overall book rankings, four books related to diet and health made it into the top 10. In the paperback category, 1Q84, which garnered attention this year upon its paperback release, dominated the top rankings for each volume, and among other works, many that have been adapted into films or television dramas made it into the top 10.
