T Point Japan Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Muneaki Masuda; hereinafter referred to as TPJ), which operates "T-POINT," Japan's largest common point service, has entered into a business partnership with CyberAgent, Inc. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Susumu Fujita; hereinafter referred to as CyberAgent) regarding its smartphone community and game SNS "Ameba," and will launch the T-POINT service on December 20, 2012.
1. Purpose of the partnership
With the rapid spread of smartphones in recent years, the demand from T-CARD members for smartphone-based services is increasing day by day. Amidst these circumstances, TPJ has been expanding its services for T-CARD members to include smartphones, starting with the launch of the T-CARD-linked social game "T World" in May, followed by the launch of the T-POINT service on the smartphone music distribution site "music.jp" in May, the launch of the T-POINT service on the paid digital media "TAP-i by Mainichi Shimbun + Sponichi" in August, the launch of the TSUTAYA mobile membership card for smartphones*1 in November, and the launch of the smartphone music player app "T×DOLBY Music Player" in December, which was jointly developed with Dolby. We have decided to launch the T-POINT service on "Ameba," a social networking service that allows users to enjoy various content such as communities and games on their smartphones, with the aim of further improving our services. TPJ will continue to propose new lifestyles through smartphones by providing a variety of services that utilize the convenient functions of smartphones.
2. Service Details
Customers who have a T-ID that allows them to use the T-POINT service online can link their T-ID with their Ameba ID to earn 1 T-POINT for every 105 yen (including tax) spent on all payment methods when purchasing virtual currency coins usable on "Ameba". Additionally, accumulated T-POINT can be used to purchase coins on "Ameba" at a rate of 105 points = 100 coins.
