Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd.

—As part of a strategic partnership with Taiwan's CMC Group regarding international entertainment business, "Yay Ying Ying" has joined the franchise and will open its Minquan store on December 27th—

Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd. (President and CEO: Muneaki Masuda, hereinafter referred to as CCC) will open its first TSUTAYA store in Taiwan, "TSUTAYA Ya-Yi Ying-Yin Minquan Store," on December 27, 2012.

The opening of stores in Taiwan is part of a strategic capital and business alliance concerning international entertainment businesses that CCC and Taiwan's CMC Group (Central Group) concluded on June 25th of this year.

Ya-Yi International Co., Ltd., which currently operates 46 stores of "Ya-Yi Ying-Yin," Taiwan's largest video package rental and sales chain under the CMC Group (Central Group), will join TSUTAYA and renovate its "Ya-Yi Ying-Yin" Minquan store in Taipei City into the first "TSUTAYA" store.

TSUTAYA Ya-Yi Ying-Yin Minquan Store will create a unique "place" for customers to discover products that only a physical store can offer, incorporating TSUTAYA's expertise in product selection and title recommendations, the quality of the store's interior, and high-quality Japanese-style customer service, all based on database marketing that TSUTAYA has cultivated in Japan for many years. This will result in the birth of a completely new entertainment shop with customer value that has never existed before in Taiwan.

In particular, regarding the "product selection," which is one of the reasons why TSUTAYA is popular in Japan, we will achieve a selection of 20,000 titles and 32,000 items, 1.5 times the previous size, in order to fulfill the promise of "there is no product that is not available in Taiwan." Through content procurement based on a strategic partnership with the CMC Group and a selection based on database marketing, TSUTAYA Ya-Yi Ying-Yin will provide Taiwanese customers with a platform to discover wonderful movies they've always wanted to see but couldn't rent before.

In addition to operating TSUTAYA stores, CCC operates an integrated entertainment business under its Culture Publishers label, handling everything from content acquisition to distribution, including film distribution and DVD releases. Moving forward, CCC and the CMC Group will collaborate in the content acquisition field, leveraging the strength of TSUTAYA, one of Asia's largest entertainment chains. Furthermore, going forward, we will provide people with even more wonderful video content through our content distribution and copyright businesses in the film industries of Japan, Taiwan, and China.
