Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd. TSUTAYA Company (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo), which operates TSUTAYA stores nationwide, will make "Total Recall" available for rental from January 9th at TSUTAYA stores nationwide and through its online DVD/CD rental service "TSUTAYA DISCAS" as TSUTAYA's first major private brand (original) title of 2013*.
At TSUTAYA, we are strengthening our selection of foreign films, which have recently seen a resurgence in popularity, to include a wide range of titles from major releases to films that movie lovers are looking for. For films we particularly recommend, we are working to expand their distribution in stores and other locations as private label products.
"Total Recall" is a full-fledged sci-fi action epic starring Colin Farrell that overwhelms viewers with its innovative plot and stunning visuals, depicting a near-future Earth where memory manipulation is possible. While it's a remake of the 1990 film of the same name starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, this version incorporates various innovative ideas, including the setting.
To encourage more people to see "Total Recall," we are holding a "Watch Total Recall Campaign" where you can win prizes such as a Sony Xperia Tablet or a 50,000 yen JTB travel voucher in a lottery.
Going forward, TSUTAYA will continue to enhance its unique selection of films, including private label titles, and implement various initiatives and store layouts to make more movies known to and enjoyed by a wider audience.
