(listed on the First Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange, Headquarters: Nishi-ku, Niigata City, President and CEO: Hideo Shimizu) will open "TSUTAYA BOOKS Sendai Izumi Store," Japan's largest multi-purpose bookstore spanning 3,000 tsubo (approximately 10,000 square meters), in Izumi-ku, Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture on March 16, 2013. This store will be the 72nd TSUTAYA BOOKS/TSUTAYA store operated by Top Culture Co., Ltd., and the largest among the 1,472 TSUTAYA BOOKS/TSUTAYA stores operated by Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd.

TSUTAYA, which will celebrate its 30th anniversary on the 24th of this month, has been providing "information" to help people find their own unique lifestyle through books, movies, music, and more, based on the concept of being a "place for lifestyle suggestions" since its founding.
TSUTAYA BOOKS Sendai Izumi Store, as Japan's largest multi-purpose bookstore, not only offers the ultimate selection of such "information," but also a wide variety of "tools" that match that "information," such as miscellaneous goods and wine to enrich your lifestyle, and travel goods to enjoy your trips, making it a new "place for lifestyle suggestions." Our store concept is "A Crossroads of Smiles and Dreams," and we aim to be a place that nurtures our customers' smiles and dreams through encounters with books, music, movies, and their favorite stationery and miscellaneous goods.

The extensive selection of books is geared towards the "premium age," primarily the baby boomer generation, and includes a wide variety of 800,000 books, such as humanities, hobby books, and academic texts, as well as 10,000 music CDs, including classical and jazz, and DVDs of classic films and Japanese movies from the 1940s to the 1960s. In particular, we stock a wide variety of international cultural items that you can't find anywhere else, including independent films that weren't released nationwide, unreleased films, foreign books, foreign magazines, and imported foods and wines.

Rather than simply being a place to acquire books, movies, and music, we will create a book and cafe-style bookstore where customers can spend the entire day, providing a total of 300 seats within the store. In addition, "Kids Forest," which boasts a selection of 30,000 children's books and picture books, will also carry educational toys and stationery. Furthermore, it will feature a "Bornelund Corner" where children can choose from a variety of play equipment from around the world that is beneficial for their development, while actually playing with them.
