Under the "New Library Concept" put forward by Takeo City (Mayor: Hiwatashi Keisuke), Takeo City Library (5304-1 Takeo, Takeo-cho, Takeo City, Saga Prefecture) opened on April 1, 2013. This is the first library operated by Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd. (President and CEO: Masuda Muneaki, hereinafter referred to as "CCC") as a designated manager.

The "New Library Concept" is a plan to create a library that is easy for all citizens to use and that will make them want to use it, "enriching the lives of citizens."In order to operate the library section of Takeo City Library and Historical Museum as a facility of even greater value to the city's residents, Takeo City introduced a designated management system and entrusted the public library section to CCC, creating an unprecedented library that makes use of the concepts and know-how of Daikanyama T-Site. Additionally, the building will house Tsutaya Bookstore Takeo City Library, which will sell books and rent music and videos, as well as Starbucks Coffee Tsutaya Bookstore Takeo City Library, Starbucks' first store in a public library, embodying the new "LIBRARY & CAFE" style.

The new Takeo City Library will provide civic value by being open every day from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM, making it easy for all residents to use, and by doubling the number of open-shelf books to 200,000 books that residents can touch. Furthermore, the way books are displayed, symbolized by three small rooms for different lifestyles, makes use of the know-how of Daikanyama T-Site, and offers an "encounter with books" that is different from that of traditional libraries. Furthermore, as a means to strengthen the reference function, which is an important role of the library, we have introduced self-service counters, installed 30 search terminals using iPads, and added more reference counters.

Takeo City Library will be the start of a new type of library that will be of great value to citizens and enrich their lives.
