Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd. (CEO: Muneaki Masuda, hereinafter referred to as CCC) will open its second TSUTAYA store in Taiwan, TSUTAYA Asia Art Film Minsheng Store, in Taipei City on June 6, 2013.
The opening of TSUTAYA stores in Taiwan is part of a strategic capital and business alliance for the international entertainment business concluded last year between CCC and Taiwan's CMC Group (Central China Group). Aegis International Co., Ltd. joined TSUTAYA and renovated the Aegis Movies store operated by the company, opening its first store, "TSUTAYA Aegis Movies Civil Rights Store," in December last year. Sales are growing steadily, and we have decided to open new stores to expand our operations.
To meet the needs of customers who want high-definition viewing, TSUTAYA Asia Art Film Minsheng Store has the largest selection of Blu-rays in Taiwan, with 1,000 titles. In addition, just like the Min-Kon store, the product lineup will be 1.5 times larger than the previous number of titles, in order to fulfill the Taiwanese demand for a "full selection of titles that are not available."
With content procurement based on a strategic partnership with the CMC Group and a selection based on database marketing, TSUTAYA Asia Art Films will provide Taiwanese people with a place to discover great films that they have wanted to watch but have not been able to rent until now.
In addition to operating TSUTAYA stores, CCC also operates a comprehensive entertainment business, from content procurement to distribution, including film distribution and DVD sales under the Culture Publishers label. With the support of TSUTAYA, one of Asia's largest entertainment chains, we will work together with the CMC Group in the field of content procurement. In the future, we will provide people with even more wonderful video content through our content distribution and copyright businesses in the film industries of Japan, Taiwan, and China.
