Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd., Nippon Broadcasting System, Inc., and Linda Publishers Co., Ltd. (in alphabetical order) will begin accepting entries for the 2nd Japan Entertainment Novel Award on August 1st, at the same time as announcing the first Grand Prize.
The Japan Entertainment Novel Award is a new literary award that was previously not available, with film adaptation in mind, and the first call for entries was held last year. Every year, we ask one of the most popular film producers to serve as the "chairman of the judging committee" and solicit novels that could serve as the subject matter for the film they would like to make.
In the first competition, there were many submissions from newcomers and works that impressed the judges, with comments such as "We've found a work like this" and "We've found a newcomer like this." This year, we are once again looking forward to receiving submissions for "original novels for movies" that will move readers with their overwhelming entertainment value, ideas, and unexpected story developments.
