Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd. (President and CEO: Muneaki Masuda, hereinafter referred to as CCC) has agreed to collaborate with Shunan City, Yamaguchi Prefecture (Mayor: Kimura Kenichiro) to realize the "Basic Plan for the Development of a New Tokuyama Station Building" (Attachment), and today issued the following joint statement.

In November 2013, Shunan City formulated the "Basic Plan for the Development of a New Tokuyama Station Building" in order to revitalize the city center and improve public services, and developed the (tentative name) New Tokuyama Station Building (hereinafter referred to as the "New Station Building"). The concept of the facility has been defined as "a place of hospitality for visitors to the town," "a place for people who live in the town," and "a place for people to gather and enjoy themselves and interact with the town."In promoting this facility development project, Shunan City is strongly aware of the need to utilize the knowledge, experience, technology, know-how, etc. of the private sector to construct and operate facilities that provide new public and private services with higher added value than conventional public services.
Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "CCC"). ) has opened Daikanyama T-SITE, a flagship model for a new lifestyle proposal service, in Daikanyama, Shibuya Ward, Tokyo, which combines a selection of highly suggestive books and magazines with a relaxed cafe space. Furthermore, at the Takeo City Library and Historical Museum, which was entrusted with library renovation and management operations by Takeo City, Saga Prefecture, the company has introduced new public services that offer high added value to citizens, setting it apart from traditional public services, such as a highly innovative magazine sales space, a spacious cafe space, and library services that are open year-round, thereby creating a lively atmosphere and encouraging interaction.
Shunan City is convinced that making full use of CCC's concept planning capabilities and know-how, as exemplified by the Daikanyama T-SITE and Takeo City Library and Historical Museum, will lead to the success of the new station building development project. CCC also intends to work hard to realize new public services in this project by utilizing its concept planning capabilities and know-how. Therefore, the two parties will work together to realize the "Basic Plan for the Development of a New Tokuyama Station Building," including concretizing the concept of the new station building, regarding the new station building development project.

■About the "Basic Plan for the Development of the New Tokuyama Station Building"
Based on the "Basic Concept for the Development of a New Station Building (Draft)" submitted by the Tokuyama Station Area Design Committee and taking into account the opinions of Shunan citizens and the city council, the "Basic Concept for the Development of a New Tokuyama Station Building" was formulated on Tuesday, November 5, 2013.
The new Tokuyama Station building is based on the concept of being "a place of hospitality for visitors to the town," "a place for people who live in the town," and "a place of activity and interaction where people can gather and enjoy themselves in the town."
The complex will be centered around a library that utilizes private sector know-how and operates in conjunction with study spaces and a cafe, and will also have functions such as an observation area, rest areas, waiting areas, and other communication spaces, spaces for local information, administrative services, and tourist information, as well as commercial facilities and a police station, in order to improve public services and revitalize the city center.
