2013 Book Sales Rankings: The top picks for the year are "The Man Called Pirate" and "Eternal Zero"

-For the first time in four years since 2009, novels occupy the top three overall book categories-

The Entertainment Business Division of Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd., which operates TSUTAYA (740 stores selling books), the number one bookstore chain in Japan in terms of sales, nationwide, will compile and analyze the results as a business division and announce them by category as the TSUTAYA annual rankings.

The top-ranked works in both the general book category and the paperback category were by Naoki Hyakuta. In the overall book rankings, novels by Haruki Murakami, who made waves with his new work Colorless Tsukuru Tazaki and His Years of Pilgrimage, took the top three spots for the first time in four years since the first installment of his 1Q84 series was released in 2009, making this a great year for novels.
