-The first private brand drama series in Japan-

Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd., which operates TSUTAYA stores nationwide, will begin renting the W drama series "The Trembling Cow" at TSUTAYA stores nationwide from Wednesday, January 8, 2014. The drama is based on a novel by Hideo Aiba, which delves deeply into taboo topics in the food industry, such as food fraud, mad cow disease, and the tendency of large corporations to cover up facts.

"The Trembling Cow" is TSUTAYA's first private brand (PB) domestic drama series, and will be available for rental only at TSUTAYA. In order to handle works that depict popular themes as private brands, we have stocked approximately three times the number of copies in stores compared to the stock of regular domestic drama series.

TSUTAYA will continue to expand its private label offerings, sourced independently, in order to provide customers with a wide selection and ample inventory of high-quality movies, TV dramas, and more.

Detective Tagawa Shinichi of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department's First Investigative Division, Continuing Investigation Unit, is assigned to investigate an unsolved robbery-murder case.
