TSUTAYA Sumiya Shizuoka Main Store, the flagship store of the 10 TSUTAYA Sumiya brand stores that inherited Sumiya, which has been delivering music in Shizuoka for over 80 years, has relocated to Gofukumachi Tower in Aoi Ward, Shizuoka City, and will have a pre-opening today, Friday, April 4th, with a grand opening tomorrow, Saturday, April 5th, at 7am.

The newly renovated TSUTAYA Sumiya Shizuoka Main Store will expand its sales floor area by four times compared to before the relocation, and will also expand the CD section, which is the face of the Sumiya brand and is the No. 1 sales area for classical music among TSUTAYA stores nationwide.In addition, a new BOOK & CAFE style book section run by TSUTAYA, the No. 1 book chain in terms of book sales, and a stationery section will also be created.

Additionally, BOOK & CAFE will be home to "Culfe," a specialty coffee cafe run by TSUTAYA, the first of its kind in the prefecture and only the second in the country. The cafe will offer a selection of specialty coffees that "pursue flavor" by focusing on the origins and farms of the coffee beans and emphasizing the individuality of the beans. Of all the BOO&CAFE style stores we have worked on so far, this one has the most cafe-like feel, allowing customers to freely choose books before purchasing while sipping coffee.

The bookstore and cafe are combined into one, with a total of 81 seats where you can leisurely choose books and magazines while sipping coffee. Enjoy "Santa Rosita" (limited quantity, 602 yen excluding tax), a rare coffee bean that won first place at an international coffee competition, in a French press that allows you to taste the original flavor of the beans, or organic coffee (352 yen excluding tax) made from carefully selected beans. You can also enjoy time choosing your favorite book while sipping on it. For meals, we offer a menu unique to BOOK&CAFE, including hot sandwiches that can be eaten with one hand (various types starting from 399 yen).

2. The popular "New Lifestyle Proposal Bookstore" at Daikanyama TSUTAYA Bookstore in Tokyo will be introduced for the first time in the prefecture.
The Cooking and Travel Bookshelf is a new book section never before seen in Shizuoka, with a selection of books selected by Daikanyama T-Site, a place that proposes new lifestyles for adults. For those who find guidebooks insufficient, we have 2,500 books available, including books that will deepen your understanding of the cultures of various countries, and books that will help you think about "eating" based on themes such as "food is medicine" and "specialty cuisine."Of course, we also stock the usual range of literature, comics, magazines and other items for everyday use.

3. The historic Sumiya has the country's leading music and film bookstore and CD section

The CD section also hosts occasional mini concerts. With this renewal, the store now has one of the largest selections of music and film-related books in Japan, with 5,000 titles, and like a CD section, customers can pick up a large number of music books sorted by genre, as well as back issues of music magazines. In particular, the No. 1 classical music store in TSUTAYA nationwide has a wide selection of CDs and books, and also holds lectures by classical music masters to help you enjoy classical music even more.
