Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd. Kyushu Company will reopen its flagship store in the Kyushu area, "TSUTAYA Fukuoka Tenjin" (1-chome, Imaizumi, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City), as the "ultimate" brick-and-mortar bookstore needed in the internet age, under the new name "TSUTAYA BOOK STORE TENJIN" on Saturday, April 26th at 8:00 a.m. (9:00 a.m. except for the first floor).

"TSUTAYA BOOK STORE TENJIN" is positioned as the flagship store in the Kyushu region of TSUTAYA, the No. 1 domestic bookstore chain in terms of sales. The book floor has been expanded to a total of four floors, from B1F to 3F, which is 1.4 times larger than before, and the number of books in stock has been increased from 130,000 to 170,000. In addition, from a perspective other than scale, we are pursuing two values that are unique to real bookstores and not found in online bookstores.

One is a chance encounter with a book. In an age where you can easily get the books you want on your smartphone, we have introduced a lifestyle-based classification system in Fukuoka that focuses on discoveries and insights. Each floor will be organized by theme, such as "fashion," "lifestyle (art, travel, cooking, etc.)," and "work style."Each themed bookshelf displays related books regardless of format, allowing you to discover new books based on keywords that pique your interest. For example, in the travel section, there are paperbacks, new books, and guidebooks that explain the culture of each country, and in the literature section, there are paperbacks and hardbacks regardless of the author.

The lifestyle floor on the second floor has a curation corner where you can choose books and related goods selected by experts and celebrities from various fields, allowing you to choose books that resonate with your sensibilities. Additionally, the third floor work style floor will have a space that can be used as a second office for nomadic workers, as well as a working space where seminars and talk shows can be held, making it a place where people can meet, in addition to selling books, stationery and miscellaneous goods.

The second is the comfort and the value of the time and space spent choosing books. We've all chosen our favorite books and magazines by flipping through their pages. We offer a BOOK&CAFE style space and time for you to sit back and relax with a cup of coffee while selecting books and magazines before purchasing. With the renovation, the total number of seats has increased from 74 to 211, nearly three times the previous number, making it one of the largest in western Japan for a book and cafe style establishment.
