Culture Convenience Club TSUTAYA Company, which operates "TSUTAYA" stores nationwide that sell music CDs, will be holding a live event "Tsutaya Rock x T-Groove Special Live" featuring Base Ball Bear and SKY-HI at TSUTAYA O-WEST (Shibuya-ku, Tokyo) on August 11, 2014.

This special live concert will be the first to combine in-store campaigns for two different genres: "Tsutaya Rock," a rock 'n' roll campaign run by TSUTAYA RECORDS, the CD and DVD sales brand of TSUTAYA, and "T-GROOOVE," a campaign for R&B, HIPHOP, reggae, etc.

Base Ball Bear, a "Tsutara Rock" artist who will be releasing their first original album in three years, "Twenty-Nine Years Old," on June 4th, and SKY-HI, a "T-GROOOVE" artist who released their first original album, "TRICKSTER," on March 19th, will be showing off their amazing chemistry.

What is Tsutara Rock?

A rock 'n' roll campaign run by TSUTAYA's CD and DVD sales brand, TSUTAYA RECORDS. If you purchase a CD from a participating artist, you will be entered into a lottery to win an original live performance, signed goods, and more. Past live performances have featured a diverse lineup of artists ranging from newcomers to established names, including [Alexandros] (ex-[Champagne]), Alkal, KEYTALK, Kinoko Teikoku, GOOD4NOTHING, CreepHyp, SAKANAMON, Sambomaster, Czecho No Republic, Soredemo Sekai ga Tsuzuku Nara, TOTALFAT, Dragon Ash, tricot, Namba Akihiro, THE BACK HORN, The Birthday, back number, HUSKING BEE, Hello Sleepwalkers, Fujimaki Ryota, THE BAWDIES, My First Story, MAN WITH A MISSION, The Mirraz, and Yatsui Ichiro (DJ).

What is T-GROOOVE?

Similar to Tsutaya Rock, this is a street music campaign for R&B, hip-hop, and reggae run by TSUTAYA RECORDS. If you purchase a CD from a participating artist, you will be entered into a lottery to win an original live performance, signed goods, and more. Past T-GROOOVE original live performances have featured a diverse lineup of artists ranging from newcomers to established names, including AI, LGYankees, DJ KAORI, Kawabata Kaname, Che'Nelle, GENERATIONS from EXILE TRIBE, JASMINE, GILLE, SHUN CIMBA, TEE, NOA, Haji→, Hiromi, Flower, BENI, DJ MASTERKEY, Daichi Miura, Ms. OOJA, and LEO.

About TSUTAYA

Of the approximately 1,450 TSUTAYA stores nationwide, approximately half carry the CD and DVD sales brand "TSUTAYA RECORDS."Since last year, we have launched "Tsutawa Rock," "T-GROOOVE," and "Wear The Music" as an initiative to propose new "music experiences" that combine live performances with CD purchases and rentals. Up until now, many bands have held live performances at the various live houses operated by O-Group.
