Chiaki Kuriyama appointed as special supporter of the National Manga Grand Prix

The grand prize winner will receive 10 million yen, and the work will be serialized, published in book form, and adapted into a TV anime. Applications are open until September 30th, and the winner will be announced at the end of October.

Actress Chiaki Kuriyama has been appointed as a special supporter of the 1st National Manga Grand Prix, a public manga award led by Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd. (CCC), which operates TSUTAYA, to discover Japan's most representative "national manga" from unpublished serialized manga works.

I've been hooked on the world of manga since I was little, and I think it's no exaggeration to say that I've become who I am today because I've learned so many things from manga, including morals, emotions, and knowledge. Even now, manga continues to soothe me and energize me every day. Surely there are a lot of people like me?

The National Manga Grand Prix awards 10 million yen to truly interesting works, regardless of whether they are professional or amateur, or what genre they are from! I'm very curious to see what kind of work will win the Grand Prix.

The Grand Prix winner will also be made into an anime, so it will surely have an impact on many people. Because I love manga, I have a constant desire to read and see interesting works. I'm really looking forward to seeing what kind of works I'll come across.
