TSUTAYA's private label "T-Drama" drama production label launched!

- The first installment, "Arasa-chan Uncensored," will be available for DVD rental starting August 16th! -

TSUTAYA Company (headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo), which operates TSUTAYA stores nationwide, has launched a label called "T-Drama" to distribute its own produced dramas under its private brand.
"T-Drama" is a label led by TSUTAYA that takes advantage of the characteristics of approximately 1,450 TSUTAYA stores nationwide and produces dramas targeting genres that reflect customer preferences using its database marketing know-how. The drama will be produced utilizing the know-how of C&I Entertainment Co., Ltd., a group company that handles video planning and production, and will be released as a rental DVD under TSUTAYA's private brand. In the future, we plan to actively explore channels other than DVD, such as theatrical releases, for titles released by the label that are well received by customers.

The label's first release is the TV drama "Arasa-chan Uncensored."The comic by Mine Nayuka, which has overwhelming support from women in their 30s, has been adapted into a live-action drama starring Dan Mitsu, and is scheduled to start airing on TV Tokyo from Friday, July 25th. In addition to the main TV drama, an original TSUTAYA episode that will not be broadcast will be produced and will be available for rental exclusively at TSUTAYA stores nationwide from Saturday, August 16th.
The second work is "The Secret Shop."This is a film adaptation of the original work that won the Mystery category of the E★Everystar E-Book Award, the same award that produced "King's Game."The lead role is played by Shunya Shiraishi, a young and talented actor who started out in the Heisei Rider series and continues to appear in films. This will be available for rental only at TSUTAYA stores nationwide from Wednesday, December 3rd, with more to come thereafter.

At TSUTAYA, we have been expanding our lineup by procuring private brand titles in order to enhance the selection of titles that our customers want to see. We will continue to offer a selection of products that meets the needs of our customers, making us a place where you can "find the works you want to see."
