--A literary award for original novels that make hit movie producers want to adapt them into films--
Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd., Nippon Broadcasting System, Inc., and Linda Publishers Co., Ltd. (in alphabetical order) will begin accepting entries for the 3rd Japan Entertainment Novel Award starting today, September 1st.
Now in its third year, the Japan Entertainment Novel Awards is looking for novels that will impress producers of hit films and make them say, "I want to turn this into a movie!"The aim is to discover new writers who can create "original novels for movies" that are inspiring with overwhelming entertainment value, ideas, and unexpected story developments. Each time, a popular film producer serves as the "chairman of the judging committee," and this year, Mr. Endo Hitoshi will serve as the chairperson of the judging committee. Endo Hitoshi is a film producer known for his ability to discover bestselling novels at an early stage that have become the basis for hit films, including the recent "Eternal Zero" (2013), "Coin Locker Ducks" (2007), and "Golden Slumber" (2009).

Eligibility requirements
Anyone who aspires to be a professional novelist can apply.
● Genre of the work
Submissions can be of any genre, including mystery, science fiction, romance, horror, and light novels.
However, we are looking for highly entertaining works that are conscious of the fact that they will be the basis for a film.
●Recruitment begins
September 1, 2014. Application deadline: March 31, 2015 (postmark deadline). Results announced: August 1, 2015.
●Chief judge
For the third edition, film producer Hitoshi Endo will serve as chairman of the judging committee.
Profile: Born in 1964. Born in Tokyo. Graduated from Meiji University. Currently head of video production at Amuse Inc.

Award: One Grand Prize winner will be selected.
Prize: The Grand Prize winner will receive a prize of 200,000 yen.
Publication: The grand prize winning work will be published by Linda Publishers.
