Four things that CCC will tackle
1) Planning for the sixth library in the country
2) Introducing "BOOK & CAFE" as a base for lively activity
3) Supporting civic activities in collaboration with area managers
4. Realization of a lifestyle-oriented retail store that will serve as a gateway to Nobeoka's food and culture
Aiming to "revitalize the bustle" in the downtown area of Nobeoka City, Miyazaki Prefecture (the area around JR Nobeoka Station), the city formulated the "Nobeoka Station Area Development Master Plan" in May 2012, based on the opinions of citizens at citizen workshops and discussions at station-town conferences. In developing the complex, which is positioned in the master plan as a facility that will serve as the starting point for revitalizing the city center, the aim is to create an attractive new public space that will not only provide a stage for civic activities but also combine a variety of functions and services, such as a cafe, reading space, tourist products, and information dissemination.Planning proposals were solicited from private businesses through a public call for proposals, and Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd. (President and CEO: Masuda Muneaki, hereinafter referred to as CCC) submitted the proposal.
On September 29th, a review committee consisting of people involved with the Station Town Conference met and carefully reviewed the presentations and project proposals from the four private businesses. Based on the results of the review committee, CCC has been selected as the private business partner to "create a new public space."
Going forward, we will work to create a "new public space" while taking into consideration the opinions of Nobeoka City, the citizens of Nobeoka, our partners representing various fields, including design supervisor Kumiko Inui and community designer Ryo Yamazaki, as well as stakeholders such as JR Kyushu Co., Ltd. and Miyazaki Kotsu Co., Ltd.
