Press Releases
Yutaka Pharmacy Co., Ltd. / T-Money Co., Ltd.
Yutaka Pharmacy Co., Ltd. (Head office: Ogaki City, Gifu Prefecture; President and CEO: Haneda Hiroyuki; hereinafter referred to as "Yutaka Pharmacy"), a member of the Fuji Yakuhin Drugstore Group, and T-Money Corporation (Head office: Shibuya Ward, Tokyo; President and CEO: Kitamura Kazuhiko; hereinafter referred to as "T-Money"), a wholly owned subsidiary of Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd., are pleased to announce that they will be launching a new electronic money service, "T-Money," at all Drug Yutaka stores from November 25, 2014. Drug Yutaka will be the first to offer the "T Money" service nationwide in Japan.
In recent years, alternative payment methods to cash have rapidly spread, and the world is moving towards a cashless society. In this context, we will be launching a new electronic money service called "T Money" for our 50 million T members, which accounts for 40% of the Japanese population, as a service that allows you to earn and use T points and make payments with just one T card. "T Money" is a prepaid electronic money service that adds electronic money functionality to the T Card. There are no special procedures required to use T Money; you can simply load cash onto your current T Card, and the loaded T Money can be used at T Money affiliated stores.
In an online survey*1 conducted in March 2014, drug stores were ranked as one of the top businesses in which people wanted to use T Money. Drug Yutaka saw a high potential demand for T Money, leading to the decision to join T Money. By launching the "T Money" service, Yutaka Pharmacy aims to improve the value of its services to customers who use Drug Yutaka.
The CCC Group will continue to expand its "T Money" membership through T Point partners and other channels. In addition, in order to create opportunities and needs for customers who do not have a T Card, the Group will continue to provide services that will be supported and satisfied by a wide range of generations by adding new functions and services to the T Card. We aim to create new value through the T Card, a common ID that can be used by anyone, anywhere, anytime, for anything.
