CCC Mobile plans original smartphone, to be released at TSUTAYA stores nationwide next fall

Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd. (Head office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Muneaki Masuda; hereinafter referred to as CCC) has established CCC Mobile Co., Ltd. (Head office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Yoshikazu Hattori) to realize the "place to propose lifestyles" that CCC has advocated since its founding through digital devices such as smartphones.

CCC Mobile will utilize the cultural infrastructure developed by the CCC Group, including TSUTAYA, entertainment content, T-Points, and T-SITE (online and offline), to plan an original smartphone that will be fun just to own, aiming to launch it in the fall of next year.

For the smartphones being planned, we will gather customer feedback widely through TSUTAYA stores nationwide, a dedicated website, social media, etc., and will work closely with network carriers, device manufacturers, app developers, and others to create smartphones with even greater customer value. The original smartphones will be available for purchase and applications will be made at TSUTAYA stores nationwide and through a dedicated website.
CCC Mobile will also enter into capital alliances with M Frontier Co., Ltd. (headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Kaneko Kenichiro), which operates the smartphone accessory specialty store "UNiCASE," and Iosys Co., Ltd. (headquarters: Nihonbashi, Naniwa-ku, Osaka; President and CEO: Nakamoto Naoki), which sells used PCs and mobile phones in Akihabara, Tokyo, Nihonbashi, Osaka, and other locations.

Making the most of the accessories, peripherals, and reuse know-how that both companies possess, they will launch a new brand called "TSUTAYA mobile," which will open stores within Tsutaya Electrics, Tsutaya Bookstore, and TSUTAYA stores in Futakotamagawa, Tokyo, and Umeda, Osaka, scheduled to open next spring. We will continue to propose lifestyle suggestions that will allow you to enjoy your smartphone even more.
In addition to the price, we are planning and selling original smartphones that are focused on lifestyle proposals, so please look forward to the development of "TSUTAYA mobile."
