TSUTAYA Co., Ltd., which operates TSUTAYA stores nationwide, accepted votes from November 11th to December 24th, 2014, for the "TSUTAYA Movie Fan Awards 2014" for "the film released in 2014 that movie fans found most moving and entertaining." The final results have been tallied and the winners have been decided. Out of 12,740 valid votes, "Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Inferno/The Legend Ends" received 766 votes in the Japanese film category, and "Frozen" received 1,376 votes in the foreign film category, overwhelmingly winning the TSUTAYA Movie Fan Awards 2014.

Frozen, which took first place in the foreign film category, also took first place in four categories in last year's TSUTAYA annual rankings, including soundtracks and other related products: 1) DVD general rentals, 2) DVD general sales, 3) CD general rentals, and 4) CD general sales. According to TSUTAYA's research, this film has achieved five crowns, including the foreign film category for this year's release. In the Japanese film category, "Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Inferno" has been ranked number one overall for three consecutive weeks since it became available for rental, and the second part, "Rurouni Kenshin: The Legend Ends," will also be available for rental from today. TSUTAYA movie fans will be able to rewatch the award-winning films at home and experience the same excitement they felt when they were released in theaters.
One change from the interim announcement is that "Guardians of the Galaxy" has moved from outside the top 10 to rank in the foreign film category. Also in the Japanese film category, "Paper Moon" rose one place from sixth place, and "AIBOU: The Movie III - Giant Closed Room! Special Mission Team Heads to a Remote Island" also rose from outside the top ten to tenth place.

The two first place winners will be honored at the 69th Mainichi Film Awards Awards Ceremony to be held at the Muza Kawasaki Symphony Hall (Sawaku-ku, Kawasaki) on February 10, 2015. Also, starting today, applications for spectators to the award ceremony are being accepted here (http://tsutaya.jp/fan2014precp/) will be held.
