SoftBank Payment Service Corp. (Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Yasuyuki Imai; hereinafter "SoftBank Payment Service"), SoftBank Mobile Corp. (Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Masayoshi Son; hereinafter "SoftBank Mobile"), YJ Card Corporation (Head office: Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture; President and CEO: Satoshi Ando; hereinafter "YJ Card"), and T Point Japan Co., Ltd. (Head office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Muneaki Masuda) have collaborated to offer the "SoftBank Card," a new prepaid card that can be used at Visa affiliated stores and allows customers to accumulate T Points based on the amount of purchases, to SoftBank mobile phone users from March 6, 2015.
The SoftBank Card is a prepaid card with no joining or annual fees that can be charged with "value" and used repeatedly. "Value" that has been pre-charged via bank transfer or other means to a dedicated charge account can be used to make payments at 38 million Visa member stores in Japan and overseas, including department stores, convenience stores, drugstores, restaurants, clothing stores, and online shops*1. In addition, you can earn 1 T Point for every 200 yen (tax included) spent at Visa member stores, and the accumulated T Points can be used at T Point partner stores at a rate of 1 point = 1 yen, or you can charge them to your SoftBank Card to convert them into "Value" and use them at Visa member stores*2.
In addition, we will offer a free optional service called "Omakase Charge," which automatically charges "Value"*3. Even if you have insufficient funds, you can make smooth payments without having to charge your card in advance. In addition, the T-Point award rate will be doubled, with 1 point earned for every 100 yen (tax included) spent at Visa member stores. Furthermore, you can pay your SoftBank mobile phone charges using "Omakase Charge."
With the SoftBank Card, you can also send your Value to the SoftBank Cards of family and friends or to financial institution accounts.
To commemorate the launch of the SoftBank Card, a campaign will be held from March 6, 2015, offering a discount of up to 10,000 yen on Omakase Charge usage.
*1 Some stores and services may not be available.
*2 100 T Points accumulated with the SoftBank Card can be charged as "value" equivalent to 85 yen and can be used to pay at Visa member stores.
*3 "Omakase Charge" is a service provided by YJ Card. Customers aged 18 or older (excluding high school students) can apply free of charge. In addition, you will need to undergo an examination before using the service.
