- CD rental half-price campaign begins at local stores -
TSUTAYA Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "TSUTAYA"), which operates "TSUTAYA" stores nationwide that rent and sell videos and music, has collaborated with the world's largest audio event, "Portable Audio Festival" (hereinafter referred to as "Potafes"), to launch a joint project at "Potafes 2015 Limited," which will be held in eight cities across the country from today.
The Portable Audio Festival is a sound event that displays products from domestic and international audio brands, mainly earphones and headphones, and allows anyone to freely experience the products. The event began in Osaka in 2012, and the last one in Akihabara attracted 35,000 people. The largest age group of visitors was those in their 20s, followed by those in their 30s and teens, making it an event that is of great interest to young people. There are also a large number of female participants, and anyone, regardless of gender, can join and experience the world of "good sound" (※1). This will be the first time that Potafest will be held nationwide, giving more people than ever the opportunity to experience music through listening, seeing, and touching.
The event concept was "Let's go out with great music!" for everyone across the country, and as a result of the connection between many young people who are driving the music scene and TSUTAYA's rental memberships, a collaboration was made possible by the TSUTAYA booth, which provides a place for people to encounter the excitement and discoveries of music through CDs. This is a limited-time offer at TSUTAYA where music-savvy staff will carefully select CDs, DVDs and related products, allowing you to discover great songs, experience great sound with top-quality earphones, and if you find something you like, you can purchase it on the spot.
In conjunction with this, TSUTAYA stores near each event venue will be running a limited-time offer, offering raffles with fantastic prizes and CD album rentals at half price.
In response to the diversifying ways of enjoying music, TSUTAYA will continue to offer the excitement that can only be experienced in a real-life setting, where people can listen to music in a better environment and experience the rhythm, thereby contributing to the revitalization of the music scene.
*1 This indicates that the bit rate of CDs (1411.2kbps) is higher than the general bit rate (128kbps) when purchasing from distribution sites, etc.
